David Taylor was formerly one of the BBC's senior
producers and directors for televised light
entertainment. He remained with the BBC throughout his
career, starting as an assistant floor manager
and working his way through the ranks of the
organisation. He worked alongside many household names
such as Jimmy Savile, Terry Wogan, Jim Davidson and
many others. He has a special affection for his time
as the producer of The Generation Game, and
for Bruce Forsyth, who was at that time the
programme's much-loved presenter.
David retired from the BBC and moved to West
Dorset. He now gives many lectures about his time with
the corporation and is a governor of the school in the
village where he now resides. He is also an active
member of the local parish church and a passionate
gardener!
He was awarded an honorary fellowship for services to
the arts by the National College of Music and Arts,
London in 2007, and he has recently accepted an
invitation from the College to become a member of its
Advisory Council and to oversee its diploma course for
Play writing and production.
David is married to Wendy, who was also a member of
the BBC staff and worked alongside the infamous Biddy
Baxter on the programme 'Blue Peter'. They have two
grown-up children.
